Compatibility issues

Oops. SRAM Attack grip shifters do not work with an X-5 rear dérailleur. I should know that. Too excited to get a shifter that won't hurt my ever increasing tendinitis issue I guess. Bummer. Hopefully I can get a rear dérailleur to match the shifter 'cuz Lord knows I want to ride my bike pain free. And shifting is a good thing some times.

Inspiration

Thanks Maria. I'm inspired by you to continue with my blog. Even if it is only me reading it.

I'm inspired by the women of the Portland Society. From the website: "The Portland Society is an organization of women who are passionate about bicycling and about business. We work together to support each other through referral, brainstorming, and community. We aim to grow our businesses while making Portland a better, more liveable place through service."

Be inspired.

Day 1

Wow, it's been a very long time since I last updated this blog. That seems like that is the way things go for me. I get excited for about a minute about something and promptly toss it aside when the work starts. Not always. That seems a little harsher than it was intended to be.

2010 will be the year of the bike for me. I donated my truck to charity and am now vehicle-less. I only ride my bike to work and will hopefully, when I'm acclimated to the ride, go to TKD class at the studio after work on Tuesdays and Thursdays. That's the goal. That and training for a long ride to San Francisco this summer.

The bike felt good. I think I need to check the wheel alignment before leaving today but that's an easy fix. I'm commuting on my Surly Cross Check and it's a tank! Fantastic feel and fit for me. I still want to get another set of wheels for it. I'm just not sure the ones on there will hold up under weight. The perfect wheelset? Mavic Open Pro rims 32 hole laced to 105 hubs. But, I heard that American Classic is wanting to get into the touring wheel scene. So far as I know they will only offer them in Europe. Bastards! How do I get a set for me? That will be my secret goal for the year.

I'm hoping to update this blog on a more regular schedule. I want this to be an actual cycling journey blog. I'm excited at the promise of riding my bike to SF. I need to keep that excitement alive and KEEP RIDING!
